In November of 2011, The Center for Counseling & Wellness opened in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to meet the counseling needs of the Grand Strand community, primarily on the north strand. The Center has grown over the years from one counselor an office staff of volunteers to 12 counselors, two interns, and six office staff and continues to make a significant impact in our community and surrounding areas. According to Ron Bogle, Executive Director, The Center’s Board approved expanding their presence to include a second office in Loris, S.C. in 2017. “We started seeing an increase in clients from Loris and recognized a need for counseling services in that area that didn’t require 30 minutes or more travel time,” states Bogle. “Therapy is a safe place where you can repair relationships, learn coping techniques, get help in breaking dysfunctional patterns, or just work through life’s challenges in a judgment free, encouraging and supportive atmosphere. Our mission has always been to make quality counseling services available and affordable to anyone who needs them. ”
The Center's Loris office is located at 3505 Main Street and is open by appointment Monday through Friday.
The Center was formed as a 501c3 nonprofit organization birthed out of a vision that everyone is entitled to quality counseling regardless of their ability to pay. With the incredible help of over 100 caring volunteers and donors, local churches, and The United Way, The Center opened its doors in November 2011 with one pastor, one counselor, and an office staff of volunteers. The need was great and the journey continues.
The Center serves as a coordinating location for the local community that offers professional counseling, pastoral care, linkage to community resources, consultation, educational and support groups on a sliding fee scale with the intent to provide services regardless of the ability to pay. We accept all major insurances, Medicaid, and Medicare.
